Rock Retro Scissors : It's more than just a "Hair Salon", it's the place to hangout, listen to cool tunes, get your hair "did" and buy all things Retro.
Imagined by Katie and Matthew Kromwijk from our love of hair, vintage and all things music, we wanted a place that you felt relaxed in and welcome no matter what your look is.
Back in the early 90's, Katie played guitar and was lead vocalist in an alternative band, whilst Matthew pounded the skins in a Heavy Metal Band. Today, we are parents to 2 up and coming rock stars who want to share our passion with the rest of you.
Katie has been Hairdressing for 17 years, having worked in some of Adelaide's premium Salons and for big Hair companies such as- Wella Professional, L'Oreal Professionnel and Alfaparf Milano as a Hair Colour Technician, training Hairdressers how to use colour and creative techniques. She has worked with International and National artists, Hair shows and Events across Australia and has a passion not only for teaching up and coming Hairdressers, but also her clients on how to re-create their hair at home.She is also a make up artist.
Matthew is leading up the Vintage/ Retro section. Selling anything that's unique, cool and just down right funky. He also manages the business/social media/marketing aspect and anything else that Katie just doesn't understand!!
The Hair Salon is the "Main Stage", where you are the head lining act. It's inviting, comfy and you'll want to just stop by for a coffee and chat, even when you aren't getting your hair "did". Then hang out in our "Back Stage" area whilst you are waiting for your appointment or letting your colour process, reading cool books or Rolling Stones (you won't find gossip mags here!).Walk through to the back section and check out the "Retro Store", we sell vintage clothing and goods as well. Then we believe that your hair needs to always Rock, so continue with the "After Party" with our personalised selection of Hair care products...to always let the inner Rock Star out.
